To most effectively benefit from the ultraviolet (UV) and Durable Water Repellent (DWR) protection of Nikwax Concentrated Tent & Gear SolarProof® it is best applied to equipment from new. During use the equipment fabric will pick up dirt and other contaminants which stop water from beading on the fabric surface. When this occurs the DWR can be revitalised by cleaning with Nikwax Tech Wash®. Over time the DWR will wear off through use. Both the DWR and UV protection can be replenished by reapplication of Nikwax Concentrated Tent & Gear SolarProof®.
Nikwax Concentrated Tent & Gear SolarProof® adds Durable Water Repellency (DWR), to the maximum testable standard, and ultraviolet (UV) protection, to inhibit the reduction of fabric tear strength caused by UV rays. Nikwax Concentrated Tent & Gear SolarProof® can be applied to wet or dry synthetic fabrics. It is WaterBased, non-aerosol, non-flammable, non-hazardous and environmentally friendly. It contains no harmful solvents or volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and is completely fluorocarbon-free. - Nikwax Concentrated Tent and Gear SolarProof® should be diluted in water before use.
- Mix a 150ml Pouch with 350ml water and mix well.
- Otherwise, add 2 parts product to 5 parts water and mix well.
